Ocean Sciences Meeting organizers are excited to announce that this must-attend, global meeting is heading to Glasgow, Scotland, 22-27 February 2026. This is the first time this biennial meeting will be held outside the United States.

In addition to being a city with some of the world’s most robust sustainability plans and practices, OSM is going to Glasgow because:

• 2026 is part of the 150th anniversary of the Challenger expedition, launched out of the UK.
• The city has a strong history of oceanic culture and economy.
• Glasgow and Scotland have brought together multiple oceanic and marine science organizations in academia, the private sector, and NGOs to support the meeting and further bring community.
• The city is walkable with easy train and public transportation access and easy access from dozens of countries.
• The Net Zero Carbon Events initiative was started in Glasgow and the city is still a world leader with this initiative.

Additionally, to honor this oceanic community event, Scotland’s tartan makers will create an official tartan that will be forever OSM’s tartan to use and represent the community.
